Are you who you think you are or are you someone else? If someone asked you to define, will the answer be beyond yourself? Are you defined by your wants and quirks and wishes and dreams? Or are you someone who's hidden, and cannot be seen? What defines you, your thoughts or your actions? Or are you divided into mere fractions? Are you defined by how you've hurt a person, years and years ago? Or are you simply defined by all of the people that you've let go? Are you the voice for the melodies lesser known? Or is your definition of yourself eternally unknown?
Okay, enough of all these questions. For moments more than one, we wonder about existence, and what our place is in this vast universe. And no matter how hard we try, defining ourselves is not as easy as it seems. 'Self' is an abstract, yet concrete concept that has puzzled people since time immemorial and till now, we do not have a proper answer. It is not only because of the numerous complications that define us but also because of the contradictory nature of human.
Are you defined by your name, wealth or fame? Are you defined by the creases under your eyes or your exasperated sighs? Does gender play a role in any of this? Or does appearance, does it overweigh experience? We often describe ourselves by our likes and dislikes, our thoughts and actions. Where we hail from and what we live by. But is all of this invalid when it comes to reaching a conclusion? What if everything lies in how we treat others and its implications? Does it all lose its importance while considering how paradoxical man is? Or what if the only thing that matters is how we define ourselves? Once again, who are you, really? You tell me.
