What's up with Her?

After watching the Oscar winning performance by Joaquin Phoenix in Legendary 2019 release, “Joker”, any person would instantly become his fan. I am one such fan who was baffled by Joaquin Phoenix’s performance and went about to check out his other performances. That is how I came across the 2013 release “Her”. This Romantic sci-fi directed by Spike Jonze stars Joaquin Phoenix and Scarlett Johansson in the main roles. The plot is set in what I felt like a futuristic dimension, where protagonist Theodore (Joaquin Phoenix) is an introvert writer who is currently going through the divorce phase with his girlfriend. In order to fight the loneliness, Theodore purchases a futuristic artificial intelligence which he names Samantha (Scarlett Johansson), who helps him during work and also provides him the warmth, love, and compassion which he longed for. He gets into a deep bonding and relationship with her because handling real human emotions is not Theodore’s cup of tea. But not all relationships are fairy tales; aren’t they? Want to know how the relationship between Theodore and Samantha goes? Check out “Her”, available on Netflix. The plot had me go ‘Woah!’ when the twist was revealed, I truly did not see that coming. Maybe that is why the movie itself was nominated for the Academy Awards for best original screenplay, do check it out! You won’t be disappointed.
