Lights, camera, action !

. . .a good looking youth is lazing under a tree , so slothful and free from misery. A minister in disguise of a common man walks past him. He gives a glance at that lazy, penniless youth and then makes his way to the kingdom.

As the minister returns, the king, with a sense of concern asks him "is there a renunciate in our kingdom?" For which the minister in an impulse replies "yes my lord, of course there is a renunciate amongst us ". Being exhilarated on this reply, the king orders the minister to arrange for a meeting with the renunciate in the kingdom ! To escape from this unexpected situation the minister tells the king that the renunciates have no desire for anything, so they will not come to see us in the kingdom, instead we will have to go to their place. To this the king agrees and the minister is now puzzled, stuck in a maze without an escape. He comes up with a plan to save himself.

The minister goes back to the lazy youth who has always been bone idle. He shows up with a deal "You have to act like a renunciate for a day and gracefully reject anything that anybody has to offer by saying "I Don't Need It, I'm Not Interested In It. For this act of yours I will reward you with 500 gold coins." The youth being thrilled by this offer readily agrees.

The king along with his family and battalion of soldiers begin to march to the place of the renunciate, guided by the minister.

The youth fits himself into an apt attire as a renunciate, seats himself under a tree with his eyes closed. The king stands moved to see in his kingdom a young person as a renunciate. Out of astonishment he offers 1000 gold coins as dakshna to him. With goggled eyes, tying back his temptation the youth gracefully rejects the king’s dakshana saying, "I don't need it, I'm not interested in it ". The king being touched by this reply decides to present lots of precious stones and jewels worth an immeasurable price and still with a bitter heart the renunciate refuses saying, "I don't need it , I'm not interested in it." The king is overwhelmed and plans to cut out a part of his territory to be ruled by the renunciate so that lot more good can happen to the society through the revered soul, for which the response remained, " I don't need it, I'm not interested in it."

Being moved by the gesture of the divine soul, the king, the minister, the royal family and the entire battalion along with others, fall at the feet of the renunciate and return to the kingdom feeling blessed.

The next day, the minister goes back to meet the youth and says, "hey young man, you did a splendid job and here's your reward as promised" . He hands over 500 gold coins for which the youth says in a divine graceful tone, "I don't need it, I'm not interested in it". On hearing this, the minister says, " hey boy, your role is over, cut, cut ! To make it clear" for which the youth goes on to reply with a lot of depth and strength in his voice, " if mere acting as a renunciate can make the king and the kingdom to fall at my feet, I asked myself, how it would be if I really become one and in that very moment, I outgrew my desire for worldly pleasures, " saying so the renunciate began to move on as an enlightened soul.

Got it........Cut ! cut ! Well done.

The story above showcases the connectivity of your actions and feelings. Yes, action - feeling is a cycle. Since action is tangible, it is easier to change compared to your feelings. Well... here's the good news, during an undesirable situation when you feel dreary and cloudy try and fake a happy bubbly character and soon you'll realize that the "get out of jail free" card is nowhere but right in your pocket.
