Prioritize yourself

“To fall in love with yourself is the first secret to happiness”

-Robert Marley

I had come across many teenagers who are depressed because they lost some of their favourite people from their lives. Today I wanted to write about loving ourselves. We all are afraid to lose our favourite people, aren’t we? We wanted a ever lasting moment with them. But sometimes, it takes a turn. Never bow your head down just because you lost a friendship or any relationship. Don’t get me wrong, I value relationships. It’s just I don’t lose myself over someone. They say, “If you were me, you’d know” and that’s exactly what I am trying to say. No one can understand, feel the pain, support or love as much as you. Self-love is the best love. People choose to leave you for your one mistake rather than seeing all the thousands of good things you did to them. You can’t change the way they look. They never question you why you did it and try to set things right. All they care is “you did it”. It’s really funny how people can let go of years over a day. No matter how hard you try and change yourself, you are going to be judged. Let’s take a best example, the world wide famous Taylor Swift had been judged about her weight. When she was too lean, she was discriminated that she has eating disorders and when she gained weight, she was on the front cover of the magazine with the title that reads, “Pregnant at 18?” In short, this is life and people are going to judge and pass comments on you no matter what you do. You have one life and just live it to the fullest not for the cowards who talk behind you. No one in the world can be perfect. Everyone has their flaws. Be proud of what you are. They judge you with your clothes which you wear to cover your deepest scars. You don’t have to prove or explain yourselves to anybody. Real ones will stick with you the way you are. If they leave you, be happy that you got rid of a toxic relationship. Because the real ones forgive your mistake, they won’t choose to leave. At the end of a day, it’s going to be you carrying the pain or happiness. You are going to get punished for the sins you commit or get blessed for good deeds you did. Life is full of lies and games of mind. They stake you from behind thinking that you are blind to find. You are the truth they don’t want to take. Fake people are like the shadows in the candle light. They say they are always around, just to pull your legs down. Don’t depend on someone else for your happiness and self-worth. If you can’t love and respect yourself, no one else will be able to make that happen. Accept who you are completely; the good or the bad and if you are not self-satisfied then make the progress within you, not because someone else wants you to be different.

So just love yourself, put yourself on the top, and prioritize yourself. It doesn’t matter how you are in the eyes of the world but when you look in the mirror, your head should be straight and feel proud.

That's so philosophical and lovely... Yet so true. Great to read another article from you after a long time!
