Pain demands to be felt

A book review on “The Fault In Our Stars”, By MathiRaj

Romance, all that comes to one’s mind upon hearing that term are red roses, holding hands, beautiful and cute stories, sugar coated and sweet relationships, warm hugs, kisses. But romance is not that way always, mostly not in reality. The novel released on 2012, ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ deals with a love story based on reality. This young-adult romance novel is a first person narrative type, it narrates the story of sixteen year old Hazel Grace, from her shoes. She suffers from lung cancer. Her boring and depressing journey of slow death takes a magical turn when she meets the love of her life, Agustus Waters. They meet each other in a cancer support group, through their mutual friend Issac, who suffers from Retinoblastoma, which results in him losing his eyes. Agustus Waters always had a way to bring out humor from grim situations and make everybody happy, especially Hazel happy. Hazel and Agustus’s love for a book, ‘An Imperial Affliction’ tends to take their love to the next step. It is beautiful to note how John Green bought out the feelings of a suffering person and through which a beautiful love story. Go ahead! Read ‘The Fault In Our Stars’, it truly is a recommendable book.
