NOT ANOTHER CHANCE FOR LIKES
This is a poem that was written in Germany during the Nazi rule.
First they came for the communists
Well I was not a communist so i said nothing
Then they came for the social democrats
Well I was not a social democrat so i said nothing
Then they came for the trade unions
But I was not a trade unionist
And then they came for the Jews
But I was not a Jew so I did little
Then when they came for me
There was no one left who could stand up for me
When a person commits a horrible crime, it is with such a hard heart that he/she does it. Perhaps the same negativity helps them to to overcome the guilt. The victim either dies in the act or takes their own life after it or lives on in a way we think its better for them to die. But what about the bystanders? Oh nothing much, another chance for popularity in social media. A person is hit and lies motionless on the road. "Oh fun, think about the likes and shares." Seldom thinks about their condition and helps them, which i say with relief, there still exists a few. A personal opinion of mine is that people who stand by and watch doing nothing is far worse than the criminal.
A candidate for the elections sits with the untouchables to eat, pulling a veil over the common man's already blind mind. But what matters to them except the votes? What matters to them about the nth ray of hope they light up in the illiterate only for it to be extinguished once they hold power. And god forbid to eat their food but of course that is what the media will show except that the utensils and food come from the candidate’s house. Even this, many watch by without uttering a word in fear of political power and those who muster the courage to do so, they are disruptive of the social order, trying to crash the social balance or trying to stop the people from getting a good leader and soon enough they vanish off the earth’s surface.
Going back to a much realistic case, The Nirbhaya affair in Delhi caused quite an uproar. Even though, the bus driver was not involved in it, He himself admitted that " The girl was crying out for help, her partner was beat down and **vulgarity alert** after sometime when i looked back i saw something long and spiral in the man's hand which i realized was her intestine" Yes, sounds pretty gruesome doesn't it? But wouldn't that girl still be alive if that driver had lifted a finger to help? But no! His own brother was raping the girl, that criminal's future mattered much more to him than an innocent girl's life .So he drove along an turned a deaf ear. That was so much easier.
Cricket was once a sport we all loved. The teams were the pride of every country. They played to make their nation proud. But now one team bribe the other for winning and the rest of the team and the other people involved watch and powerless and yet again the common man is fooled mercilessly.
I hope this article reaches all of you and I sincerely hope that you understand every time something happens to a person, It is not a chance to whip out your phone, not a chance to write a few Face book poems and then forget all about it, It is a chance to prove yourself to the country, to make yourself useful, to make others proud of you, to save a life. Because the next generation should grow up in a safe world, a responsible world, not a world where social media is all that matters. If you stand up for someone today, there will be someone to stand up for you tomorrow.

Very true Arya, we must not be indifferent, as the poem says it may not take long for the problem to knock on our door.
Politician sharing the meal reminded me of Article 15 ( thanks to lock down) exact scene is there in the movie!!
Actions speak louder than words...... we all can't remain mute spectators to whats happening and then call ourselves innocent. Superb one Arya.
Your words are stronger than Cena's muscle. Mannn that was powerful! 👏👏
