Little notes , little talks , little smile , little gestures of concern and care, little palm touching your face and caressing your hair. All these little things are not just little , they are the big little things that makes you who you truly are . Be it in delight or despair , little things and never barely there .
The kitchen is my chat spot . I sit there on the table top and have little conversations with my mom as she cooks and I get to know about her childhood and experience. Laughing at my family's childhood tales is my favourite part. It was these little talks that bonded us . She toils everyday and to make her a cup of chai when I'm at home gives me joy. She surprises me with new recipes and little things. For instance , last year on Children's Day she sent me a tiny note with Chinese noodles for lunch that nearly laid tears in my eyes , it was something totally unexpected.
Despite a long day , most of the days I get to hear a bedtime story from my dad , for years together till date .Sometimes even before he could finish the story I'll doze off. We play hide and seek , Catch - that's my favourite, we run and run and run and it ends up being an unplanned workout.
My sister is extremely talented and approachable .We enjoy those little secrets that we keep , and she has always been my lab rat who ate all that I've cooked and baked without the slightest twitch in her eyebrows , very encouraging , isn't she ? We can confide in eachother. However , our bond is incomplete without some mocks and whacks . Nevertheless, it's always filled with love.
After many years of being together , it was time for me to shift to a new school for my 8th grade . It was the usual scenario of tears and it wasn't easy to bid goodbyes to friends I've known for years . My best friend wrote a letter with the shabbiest handwriting and language close to gibberish. Who knew I'll treasure and laugh at it for years together.
Don't u dare judge the silver hair ! My granddad is an amazing cook . He is unbelievable, he prepared lunch for almost a month when I shifted to Chennai . Believe it or not I probably had close to 10 varieties of potato fry and everyday it was different, he had his own explanation for every recipe . Undoubtedly I got sick of it , but right now it sounds funny . Sometimes , especially on a Sunday he'll call me over and serve the best of his menu that exhibits his culinary skills - ' Thatha's Thattu Idly ' . Even without saying a word, he'll parcel me my most favourite 'Halwa' ! That gesture is sweeter .
These are some of my little things that is forever cherish able , better said-costless luxuries. Little acts of kindness certainly lightens the heart , you will never know the joy it imparts . So why don't you take that little step to do a little something that could mean everything to somebody . Just a little more to make a difference to a lot more.

There are so many little things that we belittle, so many times we seldom realize its value or its importance.... thank you for bringing these precious moments out so beautifully. Good job.
