“The most powerful person in the world is the storyteller. The storyteller sets the vision, values and agenda of an entire generation that is to come.” – Steve Jobs,
I agree with Apple man himself here. All of you might have heard grandma's stories but I always heard grandpa's stories ... Being a civil servant he always told me about the government and its working... He is one of the very few people I am obliged to listen to ...
“Storytelling is the most powerful way to put ideas into the world today.”
PART 1
I might have not understood this until some time ago but my grandpa's take on corona made me think in a way I would have never thought ..... though all of his thoughts got nullified but still could this have been a cover-up at the early stages of the spread of the disease.
my grandpa believed that there were no initial issues of the novel corona virus in India ! he believed that all the cases that were diagnosed are all foreigners or people who returned from other countries ... he believed that all this was a cover-up by the Indian government to cover up the flaws of the 2.0 budget
Accordingly, various reports from news firms show that the first few cases diagnosed starting from the 30th of January 2020 were all foreign returns. the actual cases of Indians getting affected started a month after the outbreak due to contact with the virus through various means ......
PART 2
He believes that the lockdown itself is not needed
let me tell you why... India is a very populous country and polluted too...
there are already many types of viruses living inside our bodies ...
so the novel corona virus might take time to spread among the people of the country .. extending the lockdown might just further decrease the economic growth rate of the country which is the lowest since 1958...
there was recently a cabinet minister who said that the Indian economy might be better off at the end of the lockdown
I think how ???? but yeah after my grandpa told this I might think it again
and another thought
Every person who has cold, dry cough and tiredness cannot be claimed to be kept in quarantine ... this was happening in our country until sometime back with the faulty test kits from the Chinese company were being used but know we have better testing kits ...
the idea of quarantining every person with flu could be the apt idea for us in our houses with all the facilities at our doorsteps ... but what about those daily wage workers who were already getting very low wages but now have none ... what about the house helpers who are not allowed into houses ... all this is a part of the very idea of causing harm to at least half of the country which lives below the poverty line...
hearing about cases of people who have been running from villages to towns to get hospital treatment is similar to seeing an image of graphic suffering ..... isn't it disheartening that they don't have any facility because of the COVID 19 lockdown
as of us might have heard this article about two lawyers just paying re 1 as a donation for the CM relief fund but still the bar council wants to give them a certificate of appreciation I fail to understand how re 1 is going to help our nation, on the other hand, you have a corona warrior who donates all of his salaries to the relief fund .... two extremes in the same state...
I do not know if all of my grandpa's thoughts are actually true or not but hearing him out has certainly changed my view on the lockdown
further on go outside stay safe ......
Good article, well-done
Opinions differ, but the whole world can't be wrong in saying stay home stay safe. Seriously, the politics behind it, I am blissfully unaware!
Now I know the roots to your creativity. It's your grandpa that's passed on such creative thoughts to you! 👏👏👏
Grandparents tales have always fascinated me. But then, this article of yours makes us think about the pros and cons about the governments decisions and agendas! Quite intriguing 🙄
It is always right to know and understand both the sides of an issue..... it helps us to formulate thoughtful opinions and in making the right decision... and what better than listening an animated version of it from grandpa himself.... Good job.
